Hyde Parker III was the son of
Admiral Sir Hyde Parker and grandson ofSir Hyde Parker, 5th Baronet .He joined the
Royal Navy in 1796. Between 1811 and 1840 he commanded successively HMS "Monmouth", HMS "Tenedos", HMS "Iphigenia", HMS "St Vincent", HMS "Asia", HMS "Victory" and HMS "Rodney".He was appointed
First Sea Lord in 1852 and died in office in 1854.Family
His son, Hyde Parker IV, was a captain in the
Black Sea during theCrimean War and was killed on8 July 1854 when storming a Russian fort atSulina .References
