KSSJ is an FM radio station serving Sacramento. The Slogan is "Smooth Jazz 94.7 KSSJ" and programs a contemporary jazz format. The Entercom outlet broadcasts at 94.7 MHz with an ERP of 25 kW and is licensed to Fair Oaks, California. Although KSSJ does have a HD Radio channel, it has yet to sign on a HD2 or HD3 subcarrier and is the only Entercom/Sacramento outlet that does not have a planned format for its HD radio channels [ [http://cbsr.itmftp.com/sacramento.html Sacramento HD radio guide] ] .

History

The 94.7 frequency is actually move-in from the Reno, Nevada market, where it was KTHX. In 1997 the frequency was reassigned to Fair Oaks and returned to the air with its current format in 1998. KSSJ has also proved to be a success story in the market, where it has placed as one of the top rated stations in several Arbitrons since its sign on.

The original KSSJ was at 101.9 until 1998 when American Radio Systems sold 101.9 to Excell Communications (Now part of Entravsion) and the KSSJ intellectual property to Entercom.
