The 94.7 frequency is actually move-in from the
Reno, Nevada market, where it was KTHX. In 1997 the frequency was reassigned to Fair Oaks and returned to the air with its current format in 1998. KSSJ has also proved to be a success story in the market, where it has placed as one of the top rated stations in several Arbitrons since its sign on.The original KSSJ was at 101.9 until 1998 when American Radio Systems sold 101.9 to Excell Communications (Now part of Entravsion) and the KSSJ intellectual property to Entercom.
