In April 2006 became co-anchor for the Washington, D.C. broadcast of
Al Jazeera International's English language television news program (Al-Jazeera English TV news broadcasts daily from four separate news bureaus: Doha, Washington, D.C., London, and Kuala Lumpur). Fakhry was New York Bureau Chief of the London-based Arabic language dailyAsharq Al-Awsat . From 2002-2004, she was theLebanese Broadcasting Corporation -Al Hayat's lead evening news anchor fromLondon , and was the New York Bureau Chief from 2000 to late 2001 for Al Jazeera. Previous to that, she was a New York Correspondent of Abu Dhabi Television.Fahkry has conducted in depth interviews with high profile world leaders, including former
