Branford , Connecticut. It currently has about 1,250 students. The most distinctive aspect of the school is its "Senior Exhibition" program. Every student must complete a thorough research project on a topic of his or her choice during his or her senior year. It is to be presented in front of the community when completed, and graded by a panel of judges on a 1-5 scale (3 and up is passing). Also, every Tuesday students have collaboration and on Wednesdays they have advisory where they get together with their Advisory teacher and they tell him or her if they have any problems and the advisory teacher tells the students information about upcoming events or topics. The current principal, Dr. Edmund Higgins, will be retiring at the end of the 2007-2008 school year. During his tenure, Higgins was considered a leading innovator. It was announced in February that he will be replaced by assistant principal Lee Panagoulias.
Academically, it is a "Class a" school, slightly above average for Connecticut in family income and expected success.
