James Vreeland

James Vreeland

James Raymond Vreeland (born 1971, New York City) is an Associate Professor of political science at Yale University. He will join the faculty of Georgetown University as an Associate Professor in January 2009. [ [http://irrumormill.blogspot.com/2006_09_01_archive.html IR Rumor Mill: 2006/09 ] ] He received his B.A. from Manhattan College, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa in 1994, and his Ph.D. from New York University in 1999. Most of his research focuses on the International Monetary Fund. Vreeland has published two books, one edited volume, and several articles in scholarly journals on the subject. He has also researched other international institutions, such as the United Nations, and domestic political institutions such as democracy and dictatorship.

His research collaborators include Axel Dreher, Jennifer Gandhi, Stephen Kosack, Adam Przeworski, Gustav Ranis, Peter Rosendorff, Alastair Smith, and Jan-Egbert Sturm.
