Fajãzinha, Cape Verde

Fajãzinha (also in Capeverdean Crioulo, ALUPEC or ALUPEK and Fogo Crioulo (Djarfogo)), is a village located approximately 30 km northeast of the island capital of Sao Filipe, east of Mosteiros and north of Cova Figueira in the island of Fogo, Cape Verde and is one of the northernmost places on the island, Fajãzinha are linked with the road encircling the island.

Geography

The area around Fajãzinha contains farmlands that extends up to 300 to 400 m above sea level or the Atlantic, the Chã das Caldeiras is to the south and features grasslands, rocks and ledges and bushes, the Atlantic Ocean can be seen to the south and southeast. The living standards are in the low range as well as its income, one time, there were no money until the late-20th century. The village is in the island's low class. Every house are built with mud-brick and stone. All of its population are farmers and are based in agriculture where banana plantations, pineapple and other crops are common.
