Henry Maximillian Pachter (1907–1980), born Heinz Pächter, was a German-American twentieth century scholar of
socialism andpolitical history , employed as aprofessor ofhistory at theNew School for Social Research ,City College of theCity University of New York , and atRutgers University .Pachter was the co-editor of the journal "Dissent".
