July 28 ,1962 ) is a German ex-footballer who played as a striker. Gütschow was born inEast Germany , and began his career withDynamo Dresden . He established himself as a prolific goalscorer, and was theDDR-Oberliga 's top scorer for its last three seasons (1989-91). In addition he was the last ever East German footballer of the year. Following reunification, Dynamo moved into the Bundesliga, and Gütschow was a key player, scoring 12 goals in 39 games, before moving abroad, joining Galatasaray in January 1993. Six months later he was back in Germany, and had spells withCarl Zeiss Jena ,Hannover 96 andChemnitzer FC , each for one year. In 1996 he returned to Dynamo Dresden, where he spent three years as the club tried in vain to return to the Bundesliga. He retired from football in 1999.At international level, Gütschow was capped three times by East Germany, scoring twice. He had also worked as a paid informant for the
