Asgeir Dølplads (born 1932) is a former Norwegian
ski jumper . On1 January 1953 he became the first ever winner of theGarmisch-Partenkirchen New Year's ski jump competition, an integral part of theFour Hills Tournament . With jumps of 78.5 and 81 metres, Dølplads won ahead of AustrianSepp Bradl and GermanToni Brutscher . In the ensuing competitions inOberstdorf ,Innsbruck andBischofshofen , Dølplads was ranked 3, 2, and 7, landing him an overall 3rd prize, after Bradl and fellow NorwegianHalvor Næs .Dølplads has been actively involved in recruitment to ski jumping at and around Rena, where one of Norway's leading K120 ski jump ramps is located; the ramp records are 140 m (
Lars Bystøl , 2004) and 138.5 m (Per Sannes Heger , 2006) for seniors and juniors, respectively. The ramp risks becoming an eternal white elephant, however, despite Dølplads's efforts, due to the political priorities associated with budget problems caused by the contemporary weberian state of the Norwegian economy.He is the father-in-law of popular Norwegian comedian
