Maibam

Maibam

Maibam is a surname of Meetei/Meitei community in Manipur, North East Indian state. In Meetei community it comes under the clan of Khuman. It is one of the most dominant surname in the community. There are localities like maibam leikai named after this surname. In Manipur you can also find a hillock called Maibam Lokpa Ching named after it. Their ancient occupation was basically "Maiba" or traditional Doctor.
