E.D.I.T is Emulsion Direct Imaging Technology that is used on Microtek’s dual-platen scanners. E.D.I.T. utilizes a glassless internal scanning bed to precisely capture transparent media directly from the emulsion surface. This design eliminates refracted light, allowing the CCD to reproduce realistic images free from Newton Rings, distortion and other unwanted artifacts. The CCD sensor is now able to render the full dynamic range from the image and provide optimal results with sharp details and accurate color readings.
