Kamlesh Patel, Baron Patel of Bradford

Kamlesh Kumar Patel, Baron Patel of Bradford is a British politician and member of the House of Lords.

In 2006, he was made a life peer with the title Baron Patel of Bradford, of Bradford in the County of West Yorkshire.

Professor Lord Patel of Bradford OBE is chair of the Mental Health Act Commission [ [http://www.mhac.org.uk/?q=node/10 Mental Health Act Commission - MHAC Board] ] . Awards

Lord Patel was awarded an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Letters by Manchester Metropolitan University on 19 July 2007 in recognition of addressing inequality in the health, criminal justice and social care fields, and his work on national action research and in establishing the Centre for Ethnicity and Health which has received a national and international reputation.
