Unterseeboot 481 (U-481) was a Type VIIC U-boat of the Nazi Kriegsmarine during World War II, laid down on 6 February, 1943 by Deutsche Werke in Kiel and commissioned on 10 November, 1943.

Commanders

The commanders of U-481 were Oblt. Ewald Pick, Kptlt. Klaus Andersen and Oblt. Gustav Bischoff (acting).

Career

In 3 patrols, U-481 sank 6 ships for a total of 1,217 GRT including one warship (108 tons) and damaged 1 ship.
*At 4:20 pm on November 19, 1944, the Soviet barge 112600 (No 4532) (approx. 1000 tons) was torpedoed and shelled by U-481.

Fate

U-481 was sunk in Operation Deadlight on May 19, 1945 at position coord|56|11|N|10|00|W|scale:10000000.
