Laurel and Hardy , directed by Charles Rogers and produced byHal Roach .Plot
A tough sea captain persuades fish market workers Laurel and Hardy to shanghai a crew for him at the local bar, at a dollar a head. There is initial success, but Stan and Ollie themselves get shanghaied, and the crew vow revenge. The captain tells his new crew Stan and Ollie are never to be harmed while they're on the boat, and further warns no one to ever say the word 'ghost' to him again, or he'll twist their head round, so that when they're walking north, they'll actually be looking south. Stan and Ollie never go ashore, and so members of the crew plan to sneak back secretly to fix them at another bar, while the captain picks up a dockside floozie. A drunken member of the crew sneaks out for a drink, and when returning falls into a tub of whitewash. After various complications, the boys think they've shot dead the drunken sailor and throw him overboard in a sack; the sailor makes his way back to the ship and terrifies the boys, thinking he is a ghost. They tell the captain this, and he irately carries out his promise of twisting heads after they say the word ghost.
