Josh Griffith

Josh Griffith is an American soap opera writer and producer. During the WGA strike, he took over as Head Writer of CBS Daytimes "The Young and the Restless". To do this, he accepted Financial core status with the WGA. Maria Arena Bell, a former writer at "The Bold and the Beautiful" and daughter-in-law of "Y&R" creator William J. Bell & Lee Phillip Bell, joined him as Co-Head Writer.

During Griifith's first full week as Head Writer, Y&R averaged 5,713,000 million viewers from December 31 2007 to January 4 2008, a decrease of 188,000 viewers from the comparable week in 2007. During his tenure as Executive Producer, Y&R reached a record low of 4,380,000 viewers on June 13 2008. The previous lows were 4,491,000 viewers on May 9 2008, and 4,805,000 viewers on August 31 2007. (Nielsen Media Research)
