Moonchester

Moonchester is the official mascot of Manchester City Football Club. Moonchester is an inhabitant of the Blue Moon. The combination of his home planet and his love for Manchester City has developed into the name of Moon(Blue Moon) chester(Manchester City), hence the name Moonchester.

Moonchester was unveiled on the 16th August 1996 before the Manchester City v Ipswich Town game at Maine Road. This was the first ever Football League game to be shown on Sky on a Friday night. City won 1-0 (Steve Lomas 25th minute)Fact|date=August 2007

Moonchester and his partner Moonbeam entertain the fans on matchdays and also appear at parties, weddings and other events around the country.
