Political Prisoners Movement of Tibet
- Political Prisoners Movement of Tibet
The GuChuSum Political Prisoners Movement of Tibet was established on 27th September 1991 by the former Tibetan political prisoners. The words " Gu Chu Sum" stand for the Tibetan numbers 9, 10 and 3 which are derived from the three important dates in the Tibetan history - September 27 1987, 1 October 1987 and March 15 1988 when three major demonstrations were crushed in Lhasa, the capital of Tibet.
Aims
The aim of the organisation is to create awareness about the political prisoners in Tibet and the human rights violations in Tibet to the international as well as the national level. The next aim is to educate the ex-political prisoners who have fled to exile and to give them food and shelter upon coming to India.
