Hassan Khaled was born in Beirut-Lebanon in 1921, received his primary school at Al makkased Islamic schools in Beirut, continued study of intermediate and secondary education at the Institute of Azhar Lebanon in Beirut, and pursued his university education at Al-Azhar University, from the Faculty of Theology in Cairo, and obtained the certificate high (BA) in 1946. He started his public life after graduating as college professor for legitimacy in Beirut for ethylene logic, and then staff member at the Islamic Shariah Court and a moderate and objective preacher in mosques, he earned respect of Lebanese and Muslims in particular from various classes, as he had a significant impact in guiding the Islamic societies both in the direction of religious and social work, and in 1954 was appointed as Deputy Chief Judge of Beirut, then in 1957 he was appointed as a judicial Judge in the province of Akkar in North Lebanon, then transferred in 1960 to the legitimate District Court of Lebanon. The emergence of religious discourse during his childhood had a great effect on his thinking and avoided engagement and association with any political or personal party, his personal morality was the governor of his behavior to the narrower limits, Morality was his guide in his work and actions, but in his thinking he was left open and liberal, his Study of Islamic Philosophy and Science of speech and logic left a big mark in his way of thinking, and tolerance of free search and away from fanaticism, but he always ended upholding morality and moral religious adherence. the boldness in declaring right in the face of opinion leaders and executives without compromising or bargaining has been the trend pursued this practice from his early work assignments till he was unanimously elected by Islamic scientists, political leaders and opinion leaders in Lebanon as the Grand Mufti of Lebanon in appreciation of his dignity and integrity, the unanimity choice of for the post of mufti of the Lebanese Republic was on Wednesday, December 21, 1966.
Duties of the Grand Mufti in Lebanon
Mufti of the Lebanese Republic is the resonant to all Muslims in Lebanon at all religious affairs, and their representative at the official authorities in Lebanon and abroad.
