Ishrat Sheikh

Ishrat Sheikh

Ishrat Sheikh also known as Ishrat Jehan (1975-June 15, 2004) was an Indian teenager who was killed along with three alleged Lashkar-e-Toiba militants in Ahmedabad on June 15 2004 in a police encounter. It was alleged that she too was a terrorist. This led to much controversy as there were claims that she had no links to terrorism at all.

Thousands of people showed up at her funeral and a politian donated a considerable amount of money to her family.

Later in July 2004, the Lashkar-e-Toiba said that she was a woman activist of the outfit.
