January 4 ,1963 ), is an award-winning Americanscreenwriter and director. She wrote the screenplays for "Ever After ",Steven Soderbergh 's "Erin Brockovich", "28 Days" and Disney's "Pocahontas". For Erin Brockovich she received an Oscar nomination in 2001. After her nomination Grant adaptedIn Her Shoes andCharlotte's Web , as well as write and direct Catch and Release, starringJennifer Garner . She is also anAmherst College alumna, having graduated in 1984.
