Glenda Collins

Glenda Collins

Glenda Collins was a British pop music singer active in the 1960s. Collins was discovered by Carroll Levis, whose promotion landed her a contract with Decca Records.

After being dropped by Decca her songs were produced by Joe Meek, featuring guitarist Ritchie Blackmore on some tracks. It was noted that Meek's fierce tantrums in the studio rarely surfaced when Collins was there and he is said to have contemplated marriage to her. Although some of Meek's work with her is rated amongst his best she was never able to break high in the pop charts. She recorded sporadically after Meek's suicide. A 2006 compilation titled "This Little Girl's Gone Rockin'" contains her complete surviving recorded output, many of which are now collectors' items.
