Hawaii National Bank is a overseas Chinese bank in the United States. With branch offices in Hilo, Hawai'i, Oahu, and Maui, this privately-held community bank was first established on September 19, 1960 in the Chinatown neighborhood of downtown Honolulu.

Hawaii National Bank survived the fierce competition by innovation, and though disputed by other banks, it claims to hold the titles of several firsts:Fact|date=August 2008
*First to offer education loans (1960)
*First daily interest on savings (1965)
*First compounded daily interest on savings (1968)
*First free personal checking accounts (1969)
*First free business checking accounts (1975)
*First home equity credit line (1983).

In 1997, Hawaii National Bank had the highest percentage of small business loans (defined as loans of less than $ 250,000) of all the commercial banks in Hawaii. Further, in a report by the Office of Advocacy of the United States Small Business Administration, the bank was recognized as being the "most friendly" lender to small business in its asset size in Hawaii. The bank is also a is a certified participant in the Minority Bank Deposit Program administered by the United States Department of the Treasury Financial Management Service. Although started as an overseas Chinese bank in the United States, the Chinese control is minor because the bank has gained much more non-Chinese investment and assets in decades of its development.
