Michael Fernandes Born Trinidad Nationality Canadian Michael Fernandes (born in Trinidad)[1] is a Canadian experimental artist based in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
His practice combines linguistic and performance events catalyzed by humour. Through public interventions and text-based installations, Fernandes creates social situations that actively solicit viewer participation. His work explores the intersection of private life with public space, and the relationship between art and everyday life. Michael Fernandes is an instructor in intermedia at NSCAD University and has exhibited and performed throughout Canada and internationally.[2]
