Forest Fields

Forest Fields is an innercity area of the City of Nottingham in the county of Nottinghamshire, England.

The area is known to be very multicultural and is located just North of the city centre, in between the areas of Hyson Green, Basford and Sherwood, close to the site of Nottingham's annual Goose Fair.

Local attractions

Forest Fields is home to one of the largest streets for Asian shopping - Berridge Road, which consists of many shops from where you can purchase traditional Indian and Pakistani attires and accessories including Sarees and Salwar Kameez, Bangles, Wedding Gold, and more. The Seehra Saree Centre is probably the most well-known shop and has been established for some time. Other famous shops include Falcon Fashions, Eastern Fashions, and Adnans Sweet Centre, a popular place to buy Asian sweets like Mitai and assorted asian food, such as currys and rice, kebabs and samosas, The Gift House (1987-1991) which is now a Grocers and East West Jewellers who retail traditional Asian wedding sets.

Forest Fields is home to the Djanogly City Academy on the site of the former Forest Comprehensive School. Renowned for its beautiful appearance and architecture is definitely among one of the biggest and most expensive schools in the nation.

The Sumac Centre is an independent community and social centre in Forest Fields. It provides resources, meeting spaces and skills for groups and individuals campaigning for human rights, animal rights, the environment, peace and co-operation world-wide.
