Christopher Marks

Christopher Marks

Christopher Marks (born July 17, 1946) was an English cricketer. He was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-pace bowler who played for Derbyshire and Staffordshire during six years in the game of cricket.

Marks first represented the Derbyshire Second XI during the Second XI Championship of 1964, in a defeat against Lancashire's Second XI. His debut first-class match came against an assorted team of Indians, during an English tour of 1967, and his first County Championship match came a fortnight later against Gloucestershire.

During Derbyshire's steady 1968 season, Marks was a frequent player with the team, but, with Derbyshire in the main failing to ring the changes in 1969, with the notable exception of Test cricketer Mike Hendrick, their form stumbled, and he was amongst three players to not return for the 1970 season, the others being former Test cricketer Harold Rhodes and captain of four seasons' service, Derek Morgan.

Marks closed his career by playing infrequently for the second team of Staffordshire alongside such players as former Test cricketer Nasim-ul-Ghani.
