The Edmonton Mercurys were an intermediate senior-A
ice hockey team that played inEdmonton, Alberta ,Canada in 1940s and 50s. Known as the "Forgotten Team", the Mercurys won the 1950World Ice Hockey Championships inLondon ,England , and thegold medal at the 1952 Winter Olympics inOslo ,Norway — the last Canadian team to win the gold until 2002 Winter Olympics.Louis Holmes coached the team in 1952.
