The Sony Ericsson Z550 is a tri-band mobile phone from Sony Ericsson. The Z550 is a clamshell opening camera phone which comes in a choice of pearl copper or sterling black colored casing. The phone has a brushed aluminium finish. The phone measures 87.5 x 45.4 x 20.5 mm with the battery fitted. It weighs 92.5 grams. The Z550i provides the user with 320 hours of standby battery time; with 5 and a half hours worth of talk time.

Other noticeable features include a full function internet browser, 1.3 mega pixel digital camera , the HPM-70 stereo headset, Memory Stick Micro(M2) slot .The phone supports MP3 and AAC audio and MPEG4 and 3GPP video media formats.

The Z550 was released in September 2006 and is now available worldwide with two color variations.

The first lot which was released in 2006 had software problem which would crash and get unstable. sony ericsson later updated its software and problem was solved after that user did not have any complaints about the phone.
