Lucy McKenzie

Lucy McKenzie (born 1977, Glasgow, Scotland) is an artist based in Glasgow.

McKenzie studied for her BA at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in [http://www.dundee.ac.uk/djcad/] Dundee from 1995-1999 and at Karlsruhe Kunstakademie [http://www.kunstakademie-karlsruhe.de/] in Germany in 1998.

McKenzie first came to prominence when she won the EAST award at EASTinternational in 1999 which was selected by Peter Doig and Roy Arden. She has since shown work in many exhibitions “The Dictatorship of the Viewer” at the Venice Biennale [http://www.labiennale.org/en/] , Becks Futures [http://www.becksfutures.co.uk/index.php] 2000 in London, Manchester and Glasgow and “Happy Outsiders” at Zacheta Gallery [http://www.zacheta.art.pl/] in Warsaw. She has exhibited internationally at galleries and museums including Tate Britain [http://www.tate.org.uk/britain/] in London, Kunsthalle Basel [http://www.kunsthallebasel.ch/] in Switzerland and the Walker Art Center [http://www.walkerart.org/index.wac] in Minneapolis. She is represented by Cabinet in London and Daniel Buchholz [http://www.galeriebuchholz.de/] in Cologne.
