Sol Aranza

Sol Aranza (born on November 7th 1986) is a voice actress and stage performer. Sol is the daughter of Mary Aranza, a well-known actress and comedian who appeared in several movies [ [http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0098253/fullcredits Santa sangre (1989) - Full cast and crew ] ] and TV shows. Very little is known about her father other than that he is a lawyer and engineer. Sol is said to be born in Mexico City, but some claim she was actually born in Chicago.Fact|date=January 2008

Sol Aranza grew up surrounded by famous show business people, and she developed an early childhood interest in acting. When she was a year old, she made an appearance with her mother on the popular Mexican telenovela "Carrusel de niños" and then at the age of five, she finally made her television debut internationally, acting as an extra in what would be the first of many music video clips.

Sol kept acting during her school years and took her first formal voice acting class at age 14. Sol began acting in theater, performing in a number of plays less than a year after she began studying acting. During the early 1990s, Sol was a regular voice performer in "Plaza Sésamo" (a Spanish edition of "Sesame Street"). She also participated in "En Familia con Chabelo", a children's television show.

In 1992, she made a few short appearances in "Al Derecho y al Derbez", a word play for "al derecho y al revés", which could be loosely translated as "rightside up and upside down" or "forward and backward." The show was hosted by Eugenio Derbez. She was also an extra in Derbez's soap opera "No Tengo Madre" ("I Don't Have a Mother"), also starring her mother. And then in 1995, Sol finally signed an exclusive contract with Televisa, allowing her to open the gates for different works.

In 1999, Derbez started a new show, "Derbez en Cuando", a word play for "de vez en cuando", or "once in a while", in which Sol made several appearances, too.

In 2002 it was rumored that she signed a contract to be the exclusive voice actress for Rose McGowan, who plays Paige Matthews, for the dubbing of the popular U.S. show "Charmed".

To this day Sol is still one of the most requested voice actresses in conventions [http://www.expo-tnt.com/ http://www.expo-tnt.com/] ] and is also frequently interviewed by the Mexican press due to her public coming out as a lesbian in a 2003 Mexican gay parade. It was rumored that she was already involved with female activists such as Patria Jimenez, head of El clóset de Sor Juana, a lesbian rights group named after Juana Inés de la Cruz, a Carmelite nun and renowned Mexican poet.
