During the Bosnian War the city was held by Bosnian Serb forces. In autumn 1995 Croatian forces took over the city which led to a mass-evacuation of the Serbs. After the war, the Serb civilans returned, and today, they again form majority of population in the municipality. [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/
