Life in Emmerdale

Elsa arrived in Beckindale in 1990 with her mother and brother and soon caught the eye of Nick Bates. A year later they decided to get married and Elsa discovered she was pregnant and in February 1991 she gave birth to Alice but in december that year broke down and left Alice with Nick and left Beckindale.

Returns

Elsa returned several times after her exit the first was after the plane crash in January 1994 for her mother's funeral when she tried to get Alice back and spread rumours that Nick and Archie were Gay. Then in May the same year after the hostage situation at Home Farm which cost the life of Shirley Turner she tried to get Alice again but failed. She was never seen again until 1999 after Nick had been locked up for murder and Kathy Glover (Nick's sister) took in Alice and tried to gain custody over Kathy and won. Her final return was in 2001 when she came to Emmerdale after Kathy kidnapped Alice. Then Alice and Kathy returned to Australia with her.
