Urban Region of Barcelona

The Urban Region of Barcelona is an area with a high population density in Catalonia, Spain.

According to the official definition of the "Àmbit metropolità de Barcelona", the population is 4.856.579. [ [http://www.idescat.net/territ/BasicTerr?TC=5&V0=4&V3=863&V4=435&ALLINFO=TRUE&PARENT=1&CTX=B&V1=1&VOK=Confirmar Àmbit Metropolità. Sèrie temporal] (catalan)] According to the Autoritat del Transport Metropolità the Urban Region of Barcelona is 5.355.110 ( [http://www.atm-transmet.org/cast/apartado2/apart2_02_int.htm Autoritat del Transport Metropolità] , 2006),covers an area of 4.268 km² and it is divided in several concentric zones, to everyone the public transport fixes its tariff.
