System Wide Information Management
- System Wide Information Management
System Wide Information Management (SWIM) is an advanced technology to help provide data sharing of ATM system information such as equipment operational status, NOTAM, status of navigational aids and airspace restrictions.
Eurocontrol initially presented the SWIM System concept to the FAA in 1997. [cite web

The concept has been under development by the FAA since 1997 (ATS Concept of Operations for the National Airspace System in 2005).
The ICAO Global Air Traffic Management Operational Concept (2005) adopted the SWIM concept as an enabler to promote information-based ATM integration.
SWIM is now part of both development projects NextGen (FAA) and SESAR (EU).
