Abduction is the 2000 thriller novel by American author Robin Cook, who usually writes only medical thrillers. Perry Bergman, President of Benthic Marine, has staked a lot into the current project - drilling into a newly discovered undersea mountain that Geosat had strangely missed. It was supposed to propel Benthic Marine to the forefront of oceanographic research. However, the venture is not going as planned & Perry decides to check it out himself. What was meant to be a quick tour to the undersea mountain turns into an unexpected adventure. He finds himself travelling with Suzanne, a geophysical oceanographer, Donald, an ex-navy officer, and Richard & Michael, who are ex-navy divers with unfortunately a penchant for violence. Robin Cook cleverly finds the answers to UFOs, the pyramids, the Bermuda Triangle, Atlantis, and the Greek Parthenon all without leaving Earth. There's a twist in the ending as well...
