Biography

Early life and career

Bob Murawski was born in Detroit, Michigan and grew up in the northeast "Thumb" area of the state. Murawski was the valedictorian at his high school in Bad Axe, Michigan. He graduated from Michigan State University with a major in Telecommunications. Soon after graduating, Murawski interned with Detroit-based film sub-distributor, Bob Mason of Mason Releasing.

Murawski then moved to Hollywood, where he found work as an assistant editor on several low budget films. One of these assistant editing jobs was for film director Sam Raimi on Raimi's comic-book-inspired picture, "Darkman"

In 1992, Bob Murawski was slated to edit friend Quentin Tarantino's "Reservoir Dogs". When the film finally got a green light, Murawski was no longer available because he was working with Hong Kong action director John Woo on Woo's first American feature, "Hard Target" (starring Jean-Claude Van Damme).

Murawski has spent the following years working as a film editor (mostly for director/producer Sam Raimi) and is also a well known cult film distributor and co-founder of Grindhouse Releasing.

Bob Murawski is a partner of Grindhouse Releasing with actor/director, Sage Stallone (son of Sylvester Stallone) and also runs his own distribution arm, Box Office Spectaculars. He has restored and digitally remastered classic cult horror films "Make Them Die Slowly" (aka "Cannibal Ferox" (1981)) and Lucio Fulci's spaghetti-horror masterpiece, "E tu vivrai nel terrore" (aka "The Beyond") (1981) as well as "Cannibal Holocaust" (1980), "I Drink Your Blood" (1970) (directed by David E. Durston), and director Juan Piquer Simón's cult horror film, "Pieces (1982 film)".

Bob Murawski is represented by agents Paul Hook, Dan Baime and Craig Bernstein at International Creative Management (ICM).

Personal life

Bob Murawski is married to fellow film editor Christina "Chris" Innis. The two editors met while both were editing the Universal/CBS cult television series produced by Sam Raimi, "American Gothic".
