Elenora Rose Sabin (E. Rose Sabin) is an author of fantasy and science fiction novels for children and young adults, the most notable being "A School for Sorcery", which is set in a universe similar to that of
Harry Potter .E. Rose Sabin is a former teacher at the middle school (Spanish and English) and junior college level (adjunct instructor). She has had many of her short stories published in small circulation magazines such as Nuclear Fiction, Fresh Ink and Figment. A School for Sorcery, winner of the Andre Norton Gryphon Award, was her first published novel.

A School for Sorcery (2002)
The first book in the trilogy. When Tria Tesserell arrives at the Lesley Simonton School for the Magically Gifted, she is disappointed to find an old, dilapidated building, only 36 students and six faculty members in addition to the stern Headmistress. She's convinced that the school is only a scam until she's faced with a roommate who shapeshifts to a black panther, she gets involved in a power duel with a fire-thrower, and faces the challenge of rescuing two young men from the Dire Realm, a dread place of demons and destruction.
A Perilous Power (2004)
Prequel to A School for Sorcery. Trevor Blake has always known he possessed magical gifts. But in the small farming town where Trevor lives with his family, the practice of magic is forbidden, and those who reveal their gifts are persecuted. So when his uncle tells him about the underground gifted Community in the city of Port-Of-Lords, Trevor and his best friend, Les Simonton, set off to find it. There, they hope to receive training in the use of their powers. As soon as Trevor and Les arrive in Port-of-Lords, the trouble begins. Unwittingly, the boys become embroiled in a power struggle among the Community's members. Not sure of whom to trust or where to turn, Trevor and Les may be forced to call upon the most perilous power of all.
