"Gone to Earth" was the second full-length solo album by David Sylvian and was released in 1986. It was an ambitious two-record set, which flouted convention (and perhaps commercial wisdom) by featuring one record of vocal tracks and one consisting entirely of Ambient music tracks. Guest artists included Robert Fripp (who co-wrote several tracks) and Bill Nelson.

Note: early single-disc CD re-releases omit three tracks: "Camp Fire: Coyote Country", "A Bird of Prey Vanishes Into a Bright Blue Cloudless Sky" and "Sunlight Seen Through Towering Trees".
