Elliott Uzelac

Elliott Uzelac was a head football coach at Navy, and Western Michigan University. From 1975 to 1981, he coached at WMU where he compiled a 38-39 record. From 1987 to 1989, he coached at Navy, compiling an 8-25 record.

In April 2006, Uzelac returned to the state of Michigan to coach high school football at St. Joseph High School. Uzelac led the Bears to a 6-5 record in 2006 after the team went 0-9 the previous season. During the 2007 season Uzelac led the Bears to a 9-0 regular season and district and regional championships. Uzelac also led the St.Joseph Bears to the Final Four in Michigan High School Football, in 2007 they went undefeated, won the Big 16 conference, West Division Champs, Division 3 District Champs and Division 3 Regional Champs. Coach Uzelac was also named 2007 High School Coach of the Year by the Michigan Associated Press.

Before St. Joseph, Uzelac coached at Bowling Green University, the University of Michigan, Indiana University, Ohio State University, the University of Colorado, the University of Kentucky, the University of Minnesota, the University of Maryland, and the NFL Cleveland Browns. Along the way he coached under or with Bo Schembechler, Lloyd Carr, Bill McCartney, Don Nehlen, Bill Mallory, Les Miles, and Bill Belicheck.
