Jane Arden is an English actress and singer.

Born in Great Britain, she spent her childhood in Hong Kong and returned to the UK to train at the Theatre Arts School in Sussex. After performing her first Shakespearean role as Jessica in "The Merchant of Venice", she became a founding member of the British Actors Theatre Company, a group directed by the actors themselves, with whom she toured as Bianca in "The Taming of the Shrew", Celia in "As You Like It", and Hoyden in John Vanbrugh's "The Relapse".

Arden's musical credits include the West End productions "Someone Like You", "", "The King and I", and George and Ira Gershwin's "Lady Be Good".

Arden toured Europe and South Africa in "Les Liaisons Dangereuses" with Daniel J. Travanti and has appeared in several Alan Ayckbourn plays and Royal Shakespeare Company productions.

Arden's television credits include two mini-series, "Lost Empires" (1986) opposite Colin Firth and Sir Laurence Olivier, and "The Strauss Dynasty" (1991), a biography of Johann Strauss with Anthony Higgins, Sir John Gielgud, and Edward Fox. She presently is an Associate Director of Actors from the London Stage.
