History
The club were founded 1987 as MINT due that it was a sport wing of the Nicaraguan Army, late in 1991 the former president Walter Ferretti died in a car accident in the roadway to Leon, as a tribute to him the name of the club was changed to his.
Present
The team has been not been the best representative of Managua, because of the little interest in following soccer across the country. However this has been changing over the past few years and every time more and more fans are going to the stadiums and are following the games along the country.
