América Managua is a Nicaraguan football team playing at the top level. It is based in Managua, and has been for long time the most successful team of the capital city and the one with the most fanatics in the area, it was for a long time relegated to the second division and almost disappeared for bankruptcy, in the 2004-2005 gained the promotion to the top division and has been since a mid table team, is currently placed in the 8th position as for the 9/15/2007
