ISSN = 0161-6587The "Boston College Law Review" is a journal of legal scholarship and student organization atBoston College Law School . It has been continuously published since 1959. Up until 1977, it was known as the "Boston College Industrial & Commercial Law Review". Among student-edited general-interestlaw reviews , it is currently ranked 23rd in the country based on citations per article. Each issue typically includes two articles concerning legal issues of national interest written by prominent outside authors, as well as three student-written notes. The Law Review has published articles on such wide-ranging topics as the legal issues involved in managing the lives of ex-offenders (an article cited by JusticeStephen Breyer in his dissenting opinion in "Blakely v. Washington ", 2004), the compensation of fund managers in the mutual fund industry, and the contributions of interdisciplinary evidence scholarship. Past authors have included Profs.Roger Park ,Michael J. Saks ,Martha Minow ,Edward Imwinkelried ,John Bogle (the retired CEO of Vanguard Investments), the Rev.Jesse Jackson , and JudgeA. Leon Higginbotham, Jr. The Law Review also hosts annual or semi-annual symposia. In 2006, the Law Review symposium addressed the legal ramifications of owning private and public standards.The Law Review is staffed by second- and third-year law students. Positions on the Law Review are filled by students who either attain the top 10% of grades in first-year classes, or who score the highest based on a first-year writing competition. The staff is comprised of approximately fifty law students.
