Andy Bolton is an English powerlifter from
Leeds . Andy Bolton was born in Dewsbury,Yorkshire on 22nd January 1970 but moved to Leeds due to training requirements in his late teens to early twenties.Youth
At the age of thirteen Andy Bolton decided that weight training was what he wished to do, this was after seeing some youths in the local youth club lifting weights. Andy Boltons father was not too keen on Andy lifting weights at such a young age so monitored Andy's lifting carefully to ensure he did not lift too much.
It was not until Andy was 18 years old that his father let him move forward and start to lift heavier weights on a full training regime.
First Competitive Win
Andy Bolton won his first competitive competition in 1991 when he was twenty one years of age, this competition was a local powerlifting event called the Yorkshire Junior Championship.
