The "Jordanville Community Centre" was built in 1976 and at the time served as the only court of the association, before it began using courts at local secondary colleges. In 1992, 3 other courts were built, including the main court which seats approximately 800. The final 2 courts were constructed in 1999. The Waverley Falcons began competing representatively in 1982.
The Association
One of the largest of its kind in Melbourne, the WBA runs both junior and senior competitions, with games running on every day of the week. The largest competition is Saturday juniors, currently catering for 21 different divisions across ages 8-18. The WBA president is Mike Bullock, who is assisted by numerous staff and committee members.
The Falcons
Widely renowned as one of Victoria's premier representative basketball clubs, "The Falcons" pride themselves as being an inclusive, family based club. With some of the highest team numbers in the state, and teams competing across all divisions of the [http://www.vjbl.com.au/ Victorian Junior Basketball League] , from regonal to Victorian Championship. Efforts such as bi-yearly basketball trips to the USA and the Time-Out Cafe increase the friendly, welcoming nature of the club. The senior Falcons teams compete in the [http://www.bigv.com.au/ BigV league] , and recent years have seen both men's and women's senior teams making finals in the Championship division, which is part of the ABA. The Future Forces program caters for those who are not yet old enough to begin playing representative basketball. The uniform is a green base featuring a yellow falcons logo and number; the colour scheme reversed for the senior teams.
