Jodie Borle

Jodie Borle

Jodie Borlé, the Canadian Jazz Musician, launched her first recording,"and then I did..." in 2005. The recording is a true labor of love, an intimate exploration of her own distinct style, a fusion of traditional jazz and the funky side of pop. Jodie takes this genre to another level. In December 2006, Jodie released her sophomore disc “Snow”, a collection of 11 holiday songs.

Jodie is the winner of the prestigious Project Cool competition held in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 2005 and received the largest career orientated prize in Manitoba history. With the career support of the internationally known corporation CanWest Global Communications, Jodie is poised to be launched into the international music market. Often compared to Ella Fitzgerald, Jodie has participated on the Canadian Jazz Festival circuit for the past several years, and has already made her presence known across the Canadian Prairies through her critically acclaimed performances as a solo artist. She has the honor of being the only Manitoba jazz artist to have showcased at the Western Canadian Music Awards on three separate occasions, and this year, she was the only jazz act from Western Canada chosen to showcase at the WCMAs in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. This year Jodie was also chosen to showcase at Ontario Contact! as the only Manitoba jazz act chosen to perform in front of talent buyers and arts council representatives across the province of Ontario.

Whether you hear her channeling Ella Fitzgerald through interpretations of the Great American Song Book or hear the sophisticated, relaxing renditions of popular songs on her album “and then I did…”, Jodie proves she is equally well versed in many musical styles.

A new album is expected to be released in the Spring of 2008 before promoting the music at various jazz festivals across Canada.
