Walter Rangeley (
December 14 ,1903 –March 16 ,1982 ) was a British athlete who competed mainly in the sprintsHe competed for Great Britain in the
1924 Summer Olympics held inParis ,France in the 4 x 100 metre relay where he won the silver medal with his team matesHarold Abrahams ,William Nichol andLancelot Royle .At the following games in 1928 held in
Amsterdam Walter won a silver medal in the 200 metres. He also joined with a new relay team consisting of team matesCyril Gill ,Teddy Smouha and Jack London but they could not match the achievements of the previous games and finished third.
