Evrytania prefecture. The river owes its name toAgrafa , one of the largest communities and once the second largest in the prefecture. The river begins in the mountains of the north the prefecture and passes into its valley filled with only traces of farmlands, beautifulpine andspruce trees and its natural beauty with a few stone bridges, it passes west ofAgrafa , and east ofPalaiokatafga near its third major road of the prefecture and next to Tripotamia, named for its three rivers flowing with the Acheloos. The river empties into the tributaries of theAcheloos and theMegdova rivers (though not seen today) and into the Kremasta/Acheloos Reservoir, the largest in the nation.Places within the river

In 1967, the Kremasta reservoir was under construction and before, it was the tributary with the
Acheloos and theMegdova rivers and the flow was extended approximately two kilometres further north when it was complete in the early to mid 1970s.External links
