Wayne Fereday

Wayne Fereday

Wayne Fereday (born Warley, West Midlands, June 16 1963) is a former professional footballer. He played for QPR, Newcastle United and Bournemouth as a winger.

Wayne made his debut for QPR in August 1980 aged 17 in a 4-0 home win over Bristol Rovers scoring twice and went on to play 196 league games scoring 21 goals.

He was a lightning fast player (possibly the quickest player seen at Loftus Road in recent seasons).

Fereday left QPR for Newcastle in 1989 but never flourished either there or at Bournemouth.

Wayne now has three children and one grandchild, spending weekends working with the PFA on Portsmouth home games and sometimes with Southampton.
