The Polytechnic University of Catalonia ( _ca. Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya) is one of the largest engineering universities in Catalonia.

The university founded in March, 1971 and was originally known as the "Universitat Politècnica de Barcelona". In 2007 it has 24 schools in Catalonia located at the cities of Barcelona, Castelldefels, Manresa, Sant Cugat del Vallès, Terrassa and Vilanova i la Geltrú. UPC has about 30,000 students and 2,500 teachers and researchers.

It is also known for hosting Europe's most powerful supercomputer (June 2007), the MareNostrum.
