Universidad de Saint Louis

The Universidad de Saint Louis is Saint Louis University's campus in Madrid, Spain. It was the first official foreign university recognized by the Spanish higher education authority and was founded in 1969.

Also known as "SLU-Madrid," the school has four-year undergraduate programs in both the Arts & Sciences and Business, offering degrees in Spanish, International Business, and Nursing. Additional degrees offered by the school require some courses to be taken at the home campus in St. Louis, Missouri.

Students choosing to major in Spanish or International Business can choose to spend all of their undergraduate study in Madrid or transfer to the main campus in St. Louis.

Students in the nursing program can spend their first two years at the Madrid campus, transfer to the main campus in St. Louis, and then transfer back to the Madrid campus their senior year. Their senior year they will complete their degree at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Students of this program leave with a degree in International Nursing, earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Diplomatura en Enfermería letting graduates work in Spain, the United Kingdom, and Ireland, making this program one of a kind.

Most undergraduates spend their first two to three years at the Madrid campus and then transfer to the main campus in St. Louis or opt to transfer to another university. Many students also visit for one or more semesters as a means of studying abroad.
